Bristol DiSC – a great way to make friends affected by Type 1 diabetes in your area

There are DiSC members all over Bristol, South Gloucestershire and North Somerset.  If live in one of these areas, there’s probably one near you.  If you’d like to make contact with him or her to find out more about the group, to arrange liftshares to meetings or just to have a like-minded friend to meet for coffee and a chat, please contact our membership secretary Louise, using the form on the  “Contact Us” page.  While safeguarding everyone’s privacy, she will arrange to put you in touch with a member in your area.

There are currently DiSC members in the following areas:

Alveston – Barrs Court – Bishopston – Bradley Stoke – Emersons Green – Golden Hill – Hartcliffe – Hawkesbury Upton- Henleaze – Keynsham – Marshfield – Portishead – Redland – Stockwood – Stoke Bishop – Thornbury – Westbury on Trym – Weston Super Mare – Whitchurch – Wotton-under-Edge – Worle – Yate

Also in your area are two useful contacts to provide support and information to parents of disabled children, including those with diabetes. If you live in Bristol City Council district, contact Wendy Sharp, Inclusive Play Coordinator.  If you live in in South Gloucestershire, contact  Nicky Owen, Play Link Coordinator.  (You can click on their names to send them an email.)  On the Downloads page you will find a copy of Bristol City Council’s Short Break Health Support Service leaflet.
